How time flies !!! It's time to return home! We rented a Corolla (Hertz), pack our luggage, and left Nomades in good hands at Sarles Boatyard and Marina.
Le nouveau GPS installé, les instructions de notre ami Mark, et nous voilà parti pour environ dix heures d'autoroute! Il est 09:45.
Vers 13:30, nous arrêtons dans une belle halte routière pour nous dégourdir les jambes et casser la croûte !
The new GPS installed in the car, and Mark's instructions duly noted, we are off ! About 10 hours of highway driving ahead of us. It's o9:45
We stop for a home made lunch in a rest area at approximately 13:30
L'autoroute n'est pas la meilleure façon de voir du pays, mais le paysage est beau et varié. Dommage qu'il y ait autant de grands panneaux publicitaires le long de la route.
Travelling on highways is not the best way to see a country but the sightseeing is nevertheless beautiful in spite of the many big ads along the way.
Le pont des Mille-Îles franchi, nous passons la frontière, et nous déposons l'auto vers 18:30 chez Hertz, près du marché By d'Ottawa. Xavier vient nous chercher et nous rentrons à la maison à temps pour le dîner. Il nous a préparé un très bon spaghetti à la carbonara.
We crossed the 1000 Islands Bridge, pass Customs, and we arrived in Ottawa at around 18:30 ! Xavier picks us up at Hertz (Byward market) and we drive home all together where a delicious spaghetti carbonara welcomes us!
