A lazy day in Crabtown!

Une pensée pour les quelques 3000 victimes des attentats du 11 septembre 2001 en ce dixième anniversaire !

A thought for the 3000 victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on this 10 th anniversary !

Nous avions invité notre ami Mark (Lady) au restaurant pour le brunch pour le remercier de son aide inestimable.

We had invited our friend Mark (Lady) for brunch in a restaurant to thank him for his help before and during our stay in Annapolis.

Nous sommes allés au Restaurant Normandie sur la rue principale ou j'ai découvert une nouvelle façon délicieuse d'apprêter le crabe (artichauds grillés , sauce fromage au crabe)!

We went to Restaurant Normandie where Mark knows the Maître D, and the chef. I found out a new delicious way to serve crab i.e. on a grilled artichoke with a cheese sauce. Have to use your fingers to eat it though!

But first, we went to the small Annapolis Public Market, held on Sunday mornings to buy bread from Quail Creek Farm Bakery. They have a very good selection, as well as croissants and chocolatines. We bought one 4 pound bread, got one free, as well as two almond croissants. The market also has very good quality veggies and fruits! We were there just a few minutes before closing time. We intend to go back and buy some more bread when we return to Annapolis for the boat show.
Mais avant d'aller au resto, nous sommes allés au petit marché public d'Annapolis, ouvert le dimanche matin, pour y acheter du pain. Nous avons acheté un pain blanc de 4 livres, et nous avons eu un pain au cheddar et à la bière gratuit, ainsi que deux croissants amandines. Nous étions là quelques minutes avant la fermeture du stand. Nous avons l'intention d'y retourner à notre retour à Annapolis, pour le boat show.


Nous avons aussi appris l'existence d'un mouvement "souverainiste" au coeur d'Annapolis. Les résidents de Eastport ont même leur propre drapeau sur la République maritime de Eastport, "because we like it that way! Notre ami Mark (Lady) qui vit à Eastport a le sien.

We learned of a separatist movement within Annapolis. The Eastport residents even have their own flag of the Maritime Republic of Easport "because we like it that way"! Our friend Mark has one !
Eastport used to be a watermen city, but it has been yuppified since.
