Oxford here we come !!! En route pour Oxford! 2011-10-13

Un coup de fil de Mystic Bond nous a sorti de notre farniente matinal ! Nous décidons de lever l'ancre et de nous diriger vers Oxford sur la Tred Avon River.

A phone call from Mystic Bond, and we decide to lift anchor and go to Oxford on the Tred Avon River.

Nous partons vers onze heures dans le brouillard.

We leave around 11:00 in the fog.

Passé la pointe de l'île Tilghman, nous devons être très vigilants car nous passons à travers les flotteurs qui indiquent la présence de cages aux crabes. Past Tilghman Island, we have to be alert to the numerous crab pots floaters .

Un peu avant 14:00, le soleil fini par percer mais il continuera de jouer à cache-cache derrière les nuages. The sun appears a little before 14:00 but it plays hide and seek for the rest of the day.

Nous avons choisi de gagner du temps en empruntant les Knapps Narrows . Une décision qui coupe 6 miles à notre périple pour gagner la Choptank et la Tred Avon. We chose to go tru the Knapps Narrows to shorten our trip to the Choptank River and the Tred Avon, by 6 miles.

We were tempted to stay there overnight. Nous avons été tenté d'y passer la nuit. Nous avons jeté l'ancre à Towne Creek (Oxford) à 16:30. We drop the hook in Towne Creek (Oxford) at 16:30 . The Rocna is holding on a bed of oyster shells. La Rocna est bien accroché sur un fond d'écailles d'huîtres.

Nous nous sommes endormis aux aboiements des bernaches qui comme nous se préparent à passer l'hiver au sud.

We fell asleep listening to the honks of Canada Geese who like us are getting ready to spend the winter south.
