Pas que du boulot à Fernandina! It's not all work in Fernandina !

 Samedi, un petit tour au marché maraîcher de Fernandina Beach... nous avons acheté salades d'olives et d'artichauts en pot, pacanes fraîches , goûté au "pulled pork" à l'orientale ...  Saturday, we went to the Farmers's Market in historic Fernandina Beach. We bought jars of olive and artichokes salad, fresh pecans, tasted the pulled pork, asian style...

Le capitaine a donné la deuxième et dernière couche de peinture anti-salissure hier !  Il se prépare à repeindre les bandes noires , or, et bordeaux sur la coque. Pas une petite affaire puisqu'il lui faudra le faire en déplaçant l'échelle au fur et à mesure.
The captain has given the second and last coat of anti-fouling paint yesterday!  He is now getting ready to repaint the boat stripes on the hull.   Not an easy task given the fact that he will have to move the ladder as he goes about it.

Nous avions besoin de faire le plein de propane.  Un employé très sympa d'une quincaillerie locale nous a conseillé de le faire chez T-Rays, qui est aussi un restaurant dont nous avait parlé Madcap ! Ça tombait bien, c'était l'heure du déjeûner. Nous nous sommes régalés.  Les crevettes frites (et je ne suis pas fan) étaient cuites à point, croquantes et pas du tout graisseuses.  On a même rencontré sur place le pêcheur qui les avaient prises dans ces filets.  Le resto est aménagé dans une station service désaffectée, avec des tables et des chaises rapaillées.
We needed propane.  An employee of a local hardware mentionned that we could get some at T-Rays, where we could eat lunch as well.  What a coincidence, Madcap had mentionned T-Rays as a funky and good place to eat. We did and we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.  The fried shrimps (and I am not a fan of fried food) were crisp, not greasy, and delicious.  We even met the fisherman who had caught them.  The restaurant is in an old gaz station. The pumps are still there. The chairs and tables were taken here and there. 

Nous avons eu aussi le bonheur de revoir Hervé, Annabel, Inaya et Thaïs de Mayola.  Arrivés en après-midi à Fernandina Beach, ils nous ont rejoint à la radio VHF.  Christian est allé les chercher pour dîner en auto.  Nous avons passé une soirée très agréable en leur compagnie.
We also had the pleasure to see Hervé, Annabel, Inaya et Thaïs de Mayola.  They arrived in the afternoon and anchored off the Fernandina Harbor Marina, and contacted us on the VHF radio.  Chritian went to pick them up by car for dinner.  We had a very pleasant evening in their company.

 

 Pendant que Christian faisait de la peinture sur Nomades,  je suis allée faire l'épicerie en compagnie de Mayola , après quoi nous sommes allés à la plage. 

While Christian was doing some paint work,  I went grocery shopping with Mayola after wich we went on the beach .

Pour nous rafraîchir, rien de mieux qu'une bonne glace au yaourt en ville !  To cool off, a yogourt ice cream !
