Mardi, nous nous sommes levés vers 04:30 , pris un bon petit déjeûner, et pris la route à destination de Fernandina Beach en Floride. Nous avons été surpris par la densité de la circulation à 06:00 du matin!!! Elle a été beaucoup plus fluide passé Washington (DC) , un ralentissement près de Richmond, et très fluide après ça jusqu'en Floride, ou nous sommes arrivés douze heures plus tard. Nous avons fait un crochet pour jeter un coup d'oeil sur le vieux Savannah qui en vaut la peine. Nous aurions aimé nous y attarder mais nous voulions arriver de clarté à Fernandina Beach pour voir la marina et nous trouver un gîte pour la nuit. Nous avons passé la nuit au Hampton Inn, à quelques minutes de marche de la plage, et d'un bon restaurant de fruits de mer ou nous avons dîné sur la terrasse, face à la mer , burger au crabe pour moi, et steak , salade et champignons portobellos pour le capitaine.
We got up early 04:30 , had a good breakfast, and hit the road for Fernandina Beach (Fl) at 06:00. We were surprised by the heavy trafic this early. It got better after Washington (DC) .
We arrived in Fernandina Beach (northern Florida) about 12 hours later after a very short drive tru old Savannah. We went to Tiger Point Marina first, and then found a hotel for the night . We stayed at the Hampton Inn, a short walk away from the beautiful beach, and a good sea food restaurant where we had dinner , at the terrace facing the ocean . Crab burger for me, and a steak salad with portobello mushrooms for the captain who could not resist the keylime pie for dessert.
Mercredi, nous nous sommes levés tôt, pris le petit déj. à l'hôtel, marché sur la plage, photographié les petits bécasseaux sanderling qui courraient partout, avant de retourner à la marina, déposer l'auto et rencontrer la propriétaire, Jackie. Notre chauffeur de taxi nous attendait à l'heure dite, et nous sommes arrivés (bien trop tôt) à l'aéroport de Jacksonville. Nous avons décollé sur les ailes de la Southwestern Airlines à 13:15. Notre ami Mark nous attendait à l'atterissage à 15:00 à Baltimore. Il nous a ramené au bateau après quelques courses à la boucherie, et dans une boutique "gourmet" ou nous avons acheté de la baguette (délicieuse et chaude) des olives, et quelques bons fromages.
En soirée nous sommes allés faire un brin de causette avec Anou 2 et Short Wave (le fils d'André D. "Tempo Libre")
Wenesday, we got up early, had breakfast at the hotel, a walk on the beach, back to the marina, where we left the car and met the owner, Jackie. Our cab driver was there on time , and we arrived at the Jacksonville airport way to early. Our friend Mark was there when we landed at 15:00. We went together to get some meat, fine cheeses and olives, and baguette, and back to Nomades. In the evening, we took the dinghy and went to see Anou 2 and Short Wave (André's son Tempo Libre).
La journée de jeudi a été consacré au grand ménage (extérieur et intérieur) de Nomades qui en avait besoin après un mois d'absence.
Thursday, it was cleaning day. Nomades needed it , inside out!
