Est-ce vraiment la fin? Is This Really the End?

Notre belle aventure marine, commencée le 13 août dernier, prend fin!
Our wonderful marine adventure , started on August 13th, is ending!
Nomades est en cale à Tiger Point Marina!  Nomades is now on the hard in Tiger Point Marina!

Le gouvernail avait commencé à vibrer lorsque nous étions aux Abacos. Un problème qui a pris de l'ampleur au fur et à mesure que nous nous rapprochions de Fernandina Beach (FL).
The rudder had started to vibrate when we were still in the Abacos.  It rattled even more as we got closer to Fernandina Beach (FL).
Nous espérons qu'il pourra être fixé ici sans nous coûter les yeux de la tête.
We hope it can be fixed here without costing us an arm and a leg!
Un autre pépin, imprévu celui-là, une pale de notre hélice Variprop a été cassée en deux par la sangle du "travel lift" . Une autre a été tordue. Dieu merci, l'arbre de transmission semble intact.  A suivre!
Another mishap, unforeseen this one, a blade of the Variprop was broken in half by a misplaced strap of the Travel Lift, and another was bended.  Thank God, the shaft seems ok.  Stay tuned!

Quant aux anodes, après 4 mois en mer, elles doivent être remplacées!
As far as the anodes are concerned, after 4 months in salt water, they need to be replaced!

Nous avons encore quelques jours de travaux à faire pour préparer Nomades à la saison chaude, mais il y a pire endroit ou le faire qu'ici à Tiger Point, près des marais, ou les oiseaux foisonnent même sur les pontons et les bateaux . We still have a few days work to get Nomades ready for the hot Florida summer! But, they are worst places to do so then here in Tiger Point, near marshes where birds flock, even on docks and boats!

Avec des couchers de soleil embrasés , et des lever de lune (la plus grosse lune depuis 30 ans, qui a engendré des marées d'amplitude de presque 8 pieds.
With fiery sunsets, and the largest moon in 30 years, and an almost 8 ft tide.

Et les plages à proximité  And the nearby beaches !

 C'est avec un pincement au coeur cependant que nous avons dit Aurevoir aux Bahamas depuis Memory Rock, ancrés derrière le récif, en écoutant à la radio publique américaine, le premier mouvement du concerto Brandebourgeois, au coucher du soleil sur le détroit de Floride, de l'eau à perte de vue.

It is with a heavy heart that we said farewell to the Bahamas, at anchor behind the Memory Rock Reef, listening to the lst movement of the Brandeburg Concerton, as we watched the sun set over the Straight of Florida.


Les bleus de la mer des Bahamas, des Exumas, en particulier, resteront gravés dans notre mémoire.
The blues of the bahamian sea , of the Exumas, in particular, will stay in our memory.

Et surtout, les belles rencontres  au gré de nos déplacements, tant aux États-Unis qu'aux Bahamas.  And most of all, the wonderful encounters we had along the way, in the USA as well as in the Bahamas.
